Notice to Companies and Individuals in Our Research
Last updated: 15 October 2026
This page is for companies, and their representatives, whose details appear in our buyer and supplier research. If we or one of our clients contacted you for the first time, here you can see where your details came from and how to have them removed. It is prepared under article 10 of Türkiye’s Personal Data Protection Law No. 6698 and, for people in the European Union, article 14 of the GDPR.
1. Who we are
Alper Azakoğlu – Azakoğlu Online Danışmanlık ve Eğitim Merkezi (controller), Sahabiye Mah. Mete Cad. Akçakaya İş Hanı No: 5/102, 38015 Kocasinan / Kayseri, Türkiye · contact@azakoglu.com
We are a foreign trade consultancy. For our clients, we research companies that may buy their products or supply them.
2. Where your details come from
- Customs and bill of lading records: your company appears in import, export or bill of lading records that your country, or the country you trade with, makes available under its own laws. We access these records through licensed international trade data providers. We do not use Turkish customs records.
- Public business sources: your company’s website, official trade registers, your company’s business social media pages (for example its Facebook, Instagram or LinkedIn page), map listings and contact details that you or your company publish for business purposes.
- Professional profiles: profiles that representatives publish for professional networking (for example a LinkedIn profile): name, job title, employer and profile address.
We do not obtain personal details from purchased contact lists, non-professional personal social media accounts (for example personal Facebook or Instagram profiles) or confidential sources. Being publicly available does not make information usable for any purpose, so we use only information published for professional purposes, and only for business contact.
3. What we process
- Company details: name, address, website, general phone and email, line of business, and general information about the shipments in the records (date, product, quantity, country). These are not personal data.
- Representative details: name, job title, business email, business phone and public professional profile address (for example LinkedIn). These are personal data.
We do not collect sensitive data, home addresses, personal phone numbers or ID numbers.
4. Why, and on what legal basis
Our purpose is to identify companies that may do business with our clients, and the right person to contact in them. Our legal bases are:
- the details were made public by you or your company for business contact (KVKK art. 5/2-d), and
- our legitimate interest, and our clients’ legitimate interest, in building international trade relationships (KVKK art. 5/2-f; GDPR art. 6(1)(f)).
We balance these interests by using only business details, using them only for research, and keeping the removal option below open at all times.
5. Who we share them with
Only with the client who commissioned the research. Our clients agree in writing to use the details only for their own business offers and discussions, not to sell or publish them, and to follow the rules of your country when contacting you.
6. How long we keep them
Up to 2 years after delivery to our client; then we delete or anonymise them. If you ask to be removed, we keep only a minimal record of your request so that we do not list you again.
7. Removal and objection
To have your company’s or your own details removed or corrected, or to learn what we hold about you, email contact@azakoglu.com with the subject “Removal request”. Please include your name, your company and your business email so we can verify the request.
- We complete your request free of charge within 30 days.
- We also notify the clients who received your details in the last 2 years.
- For all your rights and other ways to contact us, see our Privacy Policy and Data Request Form.
If you are in the European Union, you can also exercise your GDPR rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction and objection through the same address, and you have the right to complain to the data protection authority of your country.
The Turkish version of this notice (Kayıtlarda Yer Alan Kişi ve Firmalar İçin Bilgilendirme) prevails in case of any difference.
